Making Memories...

On Labor Day, I went to Asheville, North Carolina to visit my sister and her fiance. They just welcomed a new addition to our family and her name is Harper Marie. Labor Day was a perfect time to visit my sister and her family because I was in need of a girl's night with my sisters.

Over the past few weeks, I've been feeling like I need a brief vacation to let my hair down and not feel judged for being super lazy. When my sisters and I have a girl's night we talk about any and everything that's going on in our lives at the moment. Also, you can't forget the food and drinks lol… Little did my sisters know that this trip was a budget-friendly and affordable trip for me. Meaning that I had to plan out my money for my hotel room, gas, and food. Honestly, it was the hardest thing I had to do or even share with my sisters.

This summer, was a humbling experience for me because I had to work at reduced pay at a summer camp that I had to work in order to pay my bills. Ugh.. so hard! I usually work a ten-month contract as a fulltime NC PreK teacher throughout the year with a wonderful bi-weekly salary. Basically, the downgrade of pay hurt my pocketbook kinda bad because the bills been hitting a little hard. Also, my work environment has been very stressful to be in and I’ve been feeling like I need a change of scenery to help with my emotions/ stress.

Being in Asheville was a vibe and I most definitely will be visiting again. This hotel was a clean and very inviting place to stay for the weekend. The room and the bathroom gave off a loft vibe with a mix of upscale stainless steel appliances. The pictures are an accurate description of what the hotel looks like. With my budget, I was able to use Booking.com to book my room reservation a month in advance. Honestly, Booking.com is what I used when I travel anywhere because it allows to book your room and pay when you get there.

Asheville had a sense of calmness and quietness that I needed to clear my head of the negativity. The negativity has been building up and causing me to feel so frustrated. Honestly, I thank God for my sisters and certain friends for their encouragement because this summer has been game-changing for me. Meaning, that I’ve worked my butt off at work and felt exhausted working on my personal goals at home.

My main goal for myself in the last four months is to build wealth for myself and build a legacy for my future children. I found that Asheville was a great place to come to clear my thoughts and to create a beautiful business plan. Basically, Asheville is a home away from home for me now!

Sometimes a change in scenery can save your life and your sanity. I feel that this trip has helped me realize that I needed my sister's encouragement and love. Also, our sister trip has strengthened our bonds with each other. I learned that a short budget-friendly vacation was great for me because we made the most memories.

Lastly, don’t ever let a situation get to the point where you give up on your dreams and goals. So, grab your sisters, friends, or go alone on a trip to clear your mind. You’ll never know a trip can help you create or come up with ideas for yourself. I hope this post helps you to understand that booking a nice budget-friendly vacation can create the best memories for yourself.
