Teriyaki Chicken Bowl made in 20minutes

This is my version of teriyaki chicken with brown rice & broccoli.

I was looking for a quick dinner recipe the other day to help with my weight loss journey. So, I went on google and Pinterest for some 10-20 minutes teriyaki chicken rice bowl recipes. I come across another fellow food blogger pals Anna. Anna is from Crunchy Creamy Sweet created a wonderful and delicious recipe. She describes her quick teriyaki chicken rice bowls recipe as a sweet, garlicky chicken served with rice and steamed broccoli comes together in just 20 minutes.

Below is the step by step instructions for the recipe. I followed her instructions to the best of my ability lol... But Anna's recipe was easy to prep and exactly 20minutes. I truly appreciate her taking the time out to share.

Teriyaki Chicken:

You will need a skillet pan or a flat skillet of your choice. Also, she mentioned a slow cooker is a great way to do this recipe. But I haven't got to her level yet lol.. I will soon.

How to make Teriyaki Chicken?

Anna stated that you must:

  • Cut the chicken breast into bite-size pieces, seasoned it with salt and pepper, and cooked in a pan until no longer pink.

  • In a measuring glass cup or small mixing bowl, whisk the sauce ingredients. Added to the chicken in a pan. It will cook and thicken quickly coating the chicken pieces with a sweet, shiny glaze that is out of this world delicious!

  • Serve with rice and steamed broccoli.

How to make Teriyaki Suace?

  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 2 Tablespoons rice or apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 2 cloves garlic minced

  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions:

  1. Cook rice according to instructions on the packaging.

  2. Steam broccoli.

  3. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper and place in a large non-stick skillet.

  4. Cook until done, stirring often.

  5. In a small bowl or a measuring cup, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, vinegar, and cornstarch. Whisk together until there are no cornstarch lumps. Add sauce to chicken and cook stirring constantly, until it thickens into a shiny glaze.

  6. Remove from heat and serve immediately with rice and steamed broccoli.
